ATT Cotton Bowl FAQs
by dance and drill team directors attending the AT & T Cotton Bowl event.
Why is the deposit non-refundable?
The $100 per person non-refundable deposit is required so that we can secure your spot in the show. Travel accommodations begin the day we receive your deposit. Our operations department begins working on hotel, meals, game tickets etc. months in advance and signs contracts with vendors based on the number of groups with their deposit in.
What are the age requirements to be a part of the halftime show?
All performers must be 14 years of age and older. The rehearsals for the show are fast-paced and physically demanding. At times, our dancers have trouble keeping up with this atmosphere. If a dancer is accepted but cannot participate fully in all required rehearsals and keep up with the level of dance required they may be pulled from the show routine at the discretion of the choreographer.
Is the package price the same for performers and non-performers?
NO. The perform cost is slightly more as they have a costume and prop rental fee, in addition to professional choreography instruction. Non-performers receive all of the benefits that performers receive minus the costume, prop and instruction.
Does our group have to audition for this show?
No.
How do we learn the performance routine?
Each team will receive one choreography DVD and music CD the end of October or possibly early November. The first rehearsal of each event will include a choreography evaluation conducted in an audition format – each performing group will be required to perform the show choreography for the lead choreographer, ECP staff, and all other performers. It is imperative that each group come prepared knowing the choreography as rehearsals will be not be used for teaching the show routine. Rehearsal sessions held during the tour will be used to create field placements, getting on and off the field and perfecting the routine.
When will we get our costumes?
Directors will receive their group’s costumes upon arrival in Dallas. Please remember this is a rental costume and must be returned prior to departing Dallas.
What style of shoes and clothes do we wear?
The first night of rehearsals will include the choreography evaluation at each event – black on black attire is required as this will be conducted in an audition format. Please bring dance wear for all other rehearsals. We suggest you always layer clothing for rehearsals. The weather can be unpredictable so come prepared and please don’t forget comfortable shoes. The dress for most other activities is casual. Plan on casual wear our outing at Main Event.
Are chaperones provided?
Directors traveling with their groups will be required to chaperone or ensure the group is traveling with adult chaperones for their own group. ECP will have operational staff to oversee the performance tour; however, they do not take responsibility for chaperoning performers.
Can parents come?
YES! Parents, family and friends may also experience the performance tour by purchasing a package.
Are non-performers and directors allowed at rehearsal?
All hotel rehearsals are closed. Rehearsal on January 1st, is open to parents who purchased the package only.
How do we make arrangements to get there?
Transportation to the event is not covered as part of the package price. You may make flight arrangements by contacting your own travel agent, surfing the web for great deals
What is the best way to get to the hotel from the airport?
Depending on your group size the most economical transportation to the hotel from the airport is the airport shuttle service. You may pre-arrange your shuttle by contacting the hotel ahead of time or simply catch a ride at Ground Transportation once you arrive. Should you school need assistance in networking with a local bus company please let us know.
Do we get transportation once we’re there?
No ECP provides – NO transportation!
What happens if someone gets ill or hurt on tour?
Each participant is required to fill out a Medical Release Authorization Form. The director of each group is responsible to have copies of their group’s release forms during all scheduled events.
